marcusa.com relaunch

Very proud to have been given the opportunity to replace my agency’s website last week. The flash. The splash page. Very dated. And didn’t really represent the caliber of work that the interactive team is capable of producing. So with an injection of new leadership, the company decided to use the news to relaunch the site.

Absolutely best ‘list’ post i’ve seen in any dev site lately

I’m not 100% where I found this link. Could have been someone random on twitter or it was more likely someone i follow on twitter. in any event, this page turned out to be the exception to the rule. The ‘rule’ in case was that the “list post” had been done to death.

There’s an app for that

There’s an app for that

Let’s see how well the new Droid HTC EVO WordPress app does…

I’m cooking wings while I test this thang. So far i’ve noticed two things:

  1. The app absolutely chokes when adding more than one media item.
  2. Although it appears to offer the choice of ‘Publish’ … its really a misnomer. What it actually does is push the draft to the server but keeps it in Draft so there is still the need to login from a full browser to set the Status as Published. It may just be a poor choice in words but it does go to show how important the wording of Calls-to-Action are.

greatest.plug-in.evar

So I happened to be reading a nice article on the jankoatwarpspeed website about the growing ground swell within the development community to completely ditch/destroy/deadify IE6… One of the resources sited to help was a great little website – stoplivinginthepast.com which offers the greatest WordPress plug-in installed on this site… so far this year.

With a quick upload and one-click Activate… IE6 users are now subject to a very obvious, and very large reminder as to why they need (and should want to) upgrade to a more stable, secure and more advanced browser.

Undoubtedly, if you’ve stopped by nicoleandgreg.net using IE6 you’d think we have the worst design taste. The site simply looks atrocious in IE6. No support for PNG-24 gradients at all. There is absolutely NO good reason to continue to use that POS browser. Its like… EIGHT YEARS OLD forcrissakes!

So sorry Dad… but I told you to upgrade.
